The Unique Charm of Glenview
Glenview is two housing stocks in one village, and it is the clearest example of that in our whole service area. The Park, laid out in 1894 by Hugh Burnham around a central oval, is one of the oldest neighborhoods on the North Shore. The Glen is the opposite: 1,121 acres built out after Naval Air Station Glenview closed in 1995, roughly fifteen percent of the village, with its town center built into the former control tower. Between them sit the postwar subdivisions that filled the old farmland. Two Milwaukee District North stations serve the village, Glenview, which also takes Amtrak, and North Glenview. The Grove and Wagner Farm keep the pre suburban history visible.

The Glen and The Park are different plans
Houses in The Glen were built in one twenty year window to modern codes: steep pitches, multiple roof planes, two story entry gables, deep soffits and gutters that take clips cleanly. They suit full outlines and they look sharp doing it. The Park and the prewar streets are lower, simpler and closer together, with older gutter lines and trim worth protecting, and they usually read better with the eave lit and the detail left alone. We quote the two the same way we approach them, separately.
Glenview costs
Seasonal lighting starts at $799 and up, depending on the complexity, height and access of the job. In practice the newer Glen homes carry more run than their footprint suggests, because every additional roof plane and gable face is more measured footage, while the older village streets often come in at or near the starting figure. Second story access and any tree lighting are the other two variables. We measure on site rather than quoting from an address.
